In Memoriam-William (Bill) Petersen
Bill Petersen passed away Aug 24th 2011 from cancer.
Bill had been one of our represented artists from the beginning of Wilkinson Studios.
For over 50 years Bill had been an illustrator. He had a talent for illustrating characters for advertising and newspaper, including one sketch of Mayor Rahm Emanuel for a Chicago Tribune contest, that ended up on the front page. In addition to his advertising work, over the many years Bill had completed artwork for many educational stories and most recently completed images for a children's picture dictionary.
Though he may have been hesitant to come to the digital side in the creating of his artwork, he was patient enough to be lead through the process of delivering it that way, with lots of laughs along the way. His traditionally inked and colored illustrations were timeless, often humorous, and ALWAYS on time.
Bill was a pleasure to work with, to talk to, and will be missed.
